The Maschhoffs' Partners Band Together for Greater Cause

CARLYLE, IL (July 19, 2017) — The Maschhoffs, LLC recently teamed up with its Production Partners to raise $14,000 in support of GoServ Global, a non-denominational faith-based organization that provides humanitarian aid to vulnerable communities around the world. Representatives from The Maschhoffs presented a check to GoServ Global co-founder Ken DeYoung on May 11, 2017.

GoServ Global works with Sukup Manufacturing to build Safe T Homes®, otherwise known as modified grain bins. These homes serve as durable housing in hurricane-prone areas. When Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti in October 2016, with winds up to 145 miles per hour, all 200 Safe T Homes withstood the hurricane with minimal damage, and housed additional people who lost their homes.

Nick Andersen, a Production Partner from Iowa, heard of GoServ Global’s efforts and decided to get involved with the fundraising effort. He reached out to fellow Production Partners and several of The Maschhoffs’ employees.

“Originally I wanted to garner enough support to build one Safe T Home on behalf of The Maschhoffs,” Andersen says. “Between the 12 of us who donated and the Community Partnership Program match from The Maschhoffs, we were able to exceed that goal and raise enough to donate two Safe T Homes for shelter in Haiti.”

The Community Partnership Program supports Production Partner and employee efforts both on the farm and in their communities. Donations made by a Production Partner or an employee are matched, dollar-for-dollar, by The Maschhoffs. It provides financial support for activities that strengthen rural communities and the fabric of rural life, such as GoServ Global.

“Our most important assets are our employees and Production Partners,” Julie Maschhoff, co-owner and Vice President of Public Relations says. “We believe in the important role each person can play in their community and we take great pride in the compassion our employees and Production Partners have for giving back to their communities. Through this program we have been able to do amazing things, driven by those most important to us.”
